Huang Zhen

Huang Zhen (born 1979, Fu Jian, China) is a Beijing based Chinese Wire Sculptor. After his graduation in 2010 from the Sculpture Department at CAFA, he began to teach there.  Huang is known for his large-scale landscape wire sculptures.  He has long been fascinated with the “special spirit” of Chinese ink art, which has served as a vehicle of reflection on our relationship with the universe. The master-level in Chinese traditional ink art is called "xie yi", the ideal interpretation or conveyance, in terms of style and concept through brush strokes to interpret the creator`s inner state.

Huang Zhen has been devoted to exploring these traditions in further depth. He is the first sculptor who re-interprets the traditional LANDSCAPE PAINTING, especially the Song Style ink landscape, through three-dimensions.

His works were featured in Sculpture Magazine in May 2015 and are included in the collection of CAFA Art Museum, White Rabbit Gallery and among several private collections in China and America. Contact us for more information.
